Install Eclipse Galileo / Flex Builder and fix the Internal Build Error

After a bit of fiddling around i managed to get Eclipse Galileo working on Ubuntu Karmic, with all the required SDKs. Here's how to do it :

1. Follow the instructions here : http://blog.danyul.id.au/?p=68. This post walks you through how to install Eclipse, FB and the SDKs. Follow the instructions carefully as that patch file is especially essential to get right.

2. To fix the internal build error follow the instructions at : http://www.insideria.com/2009/09/fixed-an-internal-build-error.html - Thanks to James Ward there is now no occurence of the annoying Internal Build error.

3. Make sure you have installed the debug version

4. To fix the Mouse click on windows bug - apply the instructions from here: http://wobiny.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/eclipse-mouse-click-problem-in-ubuntu-9-10/

Please note that you can follow step 2 to get rid of the Internal Build Error on PC & Mac versions of the Flex Builder too.

Now you can delete your expensive Windows and Mac OS partitions and cross over to Ubuntu :-p

Ayo had asked that we need more Linux support from Adobe as more & more people move across to Ubuntu. He's right. DO it!

  2. Hello buh - yep using Ubuntu as much as possible. (Karmic). Managed to get Flash Builder 4 Linux running in Eclipse on 64 Bit Karmic! Lightening fast!!! Your projects compile before you can say 'Compile'! :)
